Chiropractic Care & The Impulse IQ

Did you know there are over 30 different adjusting procedures in chiropractic?

Chiropractic Care Amherst New York

Not all chiropractors do the same adjustments in practice. All chiropractors are taught how to adjust the spine by hand in chiropractic college, however, some like Dr. Zilliox has studied many other different chiropractic techniques. After researching most of the techniques taught around the country, Dr. Zilliox focused on instrument adjusting. This technique allows him to analyze the spine to figure out exactly what is the cause of your problem.

Most patients do not like to get their necks and backs “popped” or “twisted” by the chiropractor. Dr. Zilliox utilizes the latest technology in chiropractic, the Impulse IQ adjusting instrument. He was the first chiropractor in western NY to be trained with this procedure. This hand held device has a small microprocessor inside which senses the movement of the vertebrae. Once maximum motion of the joint is “sensed” the machine will automatically stop thrusting. There is NO popping and twisting of the spine, only GENTLE thrusts by the Impulse IQ. There is no safer technique in chiropractic!! That is why Dr. Zilliox is able to work with people of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

If you have never been adjusted before, there is a small chance you may experience slight soreness of the muscles after the first or second adjustment. This is due to the activation of the deep inner spinal muscles which hold your joints in place. Use ice on the sore areas for 20 minutes, twice per day and it should alleviate the soreness.

Adjusting the Spine with the Impulse IQ

Impulse IQ

Adjustments, or manipulation as they’re sometimes referred to is the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity to trauma such as a car accident.

When these vertebrae are out of place, it has an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain, we can’t function at our peak.
